In the 1950s the German armament manufacturer Heckler & Koch (H&K) developed Rifle G 3 in cooperation with the Spanish state-owned design and development agency CETME (Centro de Estudios Técnicos de Materiales Especiales).
History
The origin of this rifle can be traced back to the last years of the Second World War when Mauser engineers designed the MKb Gerät 06 at the Light Weapon Development Group (Abteilung 37) in Oberndorf am Neckar.
