M113 Alpha 1 American

The M113 is a fully tracked carrier of armored personnel (APC) developed and manufactured by Food Machinery Corp. (FMC). In the time frame of 1961/62 the M113 was sent to USAREUR to replace the M59 APCs of the mechanized infantry. The M113 was first tried in action in April 1962 after the United States provided heavy weapons such as the M113 under the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV) initiative, to the South Vietnamese Army (ARVN).
